MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The third-ranked Lynn University women's tennis team cruised to a perfect 7-0 win over eleventh-ranked St. Thomas (Fla.) on Tuesday in the 2025 season opener for the Blue and White.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn swept all three doubles matches, earning a point early
- Carla Galmiche and Kristen Younes earned a 6-1 victory in the first flight over Lauren Seemann and Sofia Nardone.
- The pair of Mariya Vyshkina and Salma Djoubri claimed their first doubles win of the season against Sezin Akin and Caterina Antonini in No. 2 doubles, 7-5.
- Mia Garber and Zofia Podbiol completed the doubles sweep for Lynn in No. 3 doubles against Jenesie Burgos and Lauren Fullerton, 6-4.
- The Fighting Knights took home all six singles matches, completing the 7-0 sweep.
- Djoubri took home her first No. 1 singles win of the year over Seeman, 6-1, 6-1.
- Galmiche clinched a three-set decision against Vivien Fauldi in the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 3-6, 10-3.
- Vyshkina defeated Akin in the third flight, 6-4, 6-4.
- Younes downed the nationally-ranked Anita Chornei in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 7-5.
- Garber picked up her first win in a Lynn uniform in the fifth flight over Caterina Antonini, 6-3, 6-1, 12-10.
- Podbiol picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win in the sixth flight over Jenesie Burgos.
