BOCA RATON, Fla.- The No. 3 Lynn University women's tennis team locked down its first SSC win of the 2025 season, downing Rollins at home in a tight 4-3 contest. The Fighting Knights were led by
Mariya Vyshkina who secured the win for Lynn in number two singles.
Lynn improved to 2-0 on the year while picking up their first win in a tough SSC field. Meanwhile Rollins dropped to 1-2 on the year and 0-2 in conference play. The Blue and White are now 167-23 in SSC play since 2001.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn opened the morning up by sweeping all three doubles to take a point early.
- The team of Kristen Younes and Carla Galmiche locked in a 7-5 win over Nancy Liu and Amina Taibi in the first flight.
- Salma Djoubri and Mariya Vyshkina locked down the second doubles in a 6-4 victory over Milla Falster and Polina Vlasova.
- The pair of Mia Garber and Zofia Podbiol finished up the doubles sweep, downing Nina Mitrofanova and Stella Fruijtier, 6-3
- Kristen Younes locked up the first win for the Fighting Knights in the fourth flight, defeating Milla Falster, 6-3, 6-3.
- Younes improved to 2-0 on the season in No. 4 singles.
- Zofia Podbiol took care of business in the sixth flight, cruising past Amina Abdulloeva, 6-3, 6-3.
- Podbiol kicks off her 2025 season 2-0 in the number six spot.
- Vyshkina clinched the match in favor for Lynn in a tight-knit 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 win over Polina Vlasova in the second flight.
- Vyshkina also improved to 2-0 on the season while picking up her first win of the year in No. 2 singles.
