BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Lynn University baseball team picked up its second win of the young season on Thursday afternoon, downing Erskine 10-8 behind an inspired hitting performance from the Fighting Knights. The Blue and White recorded a staggering 16 hits in the contest including four for extra bases.

Lynn improved to 2-2 on the season while Erskine fell to 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Erskine jumped in front early, capitalizing with three runs on three consecutive singles and a Lynn fielding error to take a 3-0 lead in the top of the first.
- Blake Mayberry blasted a hard-hit double to right center to open up the bottom of the first.
- An error by the Flying Fleet allowed for Mayberry to reach home and Jesse Robinson to make it to third with no outs in the first, 3-1.
- Cole Fowler scored Robinson from third on a sacrifice fly to cut the Erskine lead to one, 3-2.
- David Judge crushed a double off the fence before being brought home on an RBI single from Sean Daugherty to tie the game up at 3-3.
- The Lynn Defense held off another run in the top of the second as Robinson gunned down an Erskine base runner at home plate to turn a double play.
- Erskine took back the lead in the top of the third, scoring one run on two hits, 4-3.
- The Flying Fleet extended their lead in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly to go up by two, 5-3.
- The Fighting Knights found a spark in the bottom of the fourth, loading the bases on two hits and a walk before Robinson crushed a bases-clearing triple to give Lynn the lead, 6-3.
- Fowler kept the fourth-inning rally going with an RBI single to give the Blue and White a 7-5 cushion by the end of the frame.
- The Flying Fleet inched closer to Lynn's lead in the top of the sixth, scoring a run on two hits and an error to make the game a 7-6 affair.
- With Erskine closing in, Amaris Harrison and Mayberry crushed back-to-back singles to open the bottom of the sixth, scoring a run in the process, 8-6.
- An error on Erskine's infield allowed for Mayberry to reach home once again as Lynn hit the seventh inning stretch with a 9-6 advantage.
- Robinson added another run on an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh, giving the Fighting Knights a four-run lead heading into the eighth.
- Erskine put a little bit of pressure on in the top of the ninth, scoring two runs on an RBI groundout and a wild pitch. However, reliever Nathan Shane rallied for the final out on a massive strikeout to end the game in favor of the Fighting Knights, 10-8.

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS
- Mason Tinsley (1-0) picked up his first win of the season in his second appearance of the year. The junior pitcher went five innings while allowing five runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
- Shane closed out the game, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just two runs on two hits to earn the first save for the Lynn pitching staff in 2025.
- Six Fighting Knight batters had multi-hit games headlined by Mayberry and Robinson who each recorded three hits.
- Mayberry has recorded a double in three of his four outings this season.
- Robinson has recorded three hits in each of his previous two starts, also tallying three against Delta State on Feb. 2. He also led the team with four RBI against Erskine.
- Judge extended his hitting streak to four games, recording at least two hits in three of his four starts.
