BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Lynn University baseball team locked up a tight 6-5 win over West Alabama behind a go-ahead two-run homer from
Danny Rogers in the bottom of the eighth. Along with Rogers' two-run shot, the Blue and White continued to find its groove on offense, tallying nine hits on the afternoon.

Following the tough seven game homestand, Lynn now has a 4-3 record while West Alabama dropped to 3-5 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The high-powered offense of Lynn looked to strike early as the first four Fighting Knight batters tallied hits to give the Blue and White a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
- In the first inning rally, Cole Fowler cracked a double to left field to score the first run while Paulino blasted a single to score the second.
- West Alabama cut into the Fighting Knights lead in the top of the third on a single dropped into the right center gap, 2-1.
- The reliable bat of Fowler remained hot in the bottom of the fifth as the third baseman sliced a double to right field, bringing Blake Mayberry home and giving Lynn back its two-run cushion, 3-1.
- West Alabama put together a strong sixth inning, loading the bases before a pair of Blue and White errors put the Tigers on top, 5-3.
- The watchful eye of catcher Juan Carlos Camarena got Lynn out of the inning on a good throw to Bryant Zayas on a failed stolen-base attempt by UWA.
- Leon Paulino pulled the Fighting Knights one-run closer in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single to cut West Alabama's lead to one, 5-4.
- Zayas took a pitch to the elbow, getting on base early in the bottom of the eighth before Danny Rogers was called up to pinch hit for the Fighting Knights in a tight spot.
- In one swing, Rogers blasted a no-doubter, two-run home run over the right field wall to put Lynn up in a flash, 6-5.
- Despite allowing two runners on base, reliever Nathan Shane closed out the game for the Fighting Knights on a pair of strikeouts and a fly-out in the top of the ninth.

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Rogers' big home run was his first hit in a Lynn uniform, marking his fourth recorded home run of his young career.
- Brad Benton (2-0) picked up his second win of the season, going three innings while giving up just one unearned run on two hits.
- Shane picked up his second save of the early season, pitching the ninth inning up one while allowing no hits.
- Fowler had a great day at the dish, picking up his first two extra-base hits of 2025 on a pair of doubles.
- Mayberry extended his hitting streak to seven games, recording a double in each of the previous two games.
- Jesse Robinson continued his hitting streak to six games with a hit.
