BOCA RATON, Fla – Lynn split its doubleheader with Eckerd on Saturday, dropping the first game 3-7 and winning the second 14-3 in seven innings.
Cole Fowler homered in the first game and then walloped two more in the nightcap.
Leon Paulino hit a grand slam while
David Judge also homered in the Fighting Knight outburst.
After taking two of three this weekend, the Blue and White are now 8-9 overall and 2-4 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Back-to-back doubles gave the Tritons a 1-0 lead to start the game
- Eckerd added another run in the second on a pair of hits
- The Fighting Knights cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the frame
- After
Jesse Robinson and
Shawn Dougherty singled, Paulino drove home Robinson with the third base hit of the inning
- The visitors scored for a third straight inning on a solo homer to lead 3-1
- Fowler pulled a solo homer to cut the Eckerd lead to one in the bottom of the fourth

Blake Mayberry saved a run with a leaping catch on a liner for the final out of the top of the seventh
- The Tritons added three runs on two hits in the top of the ninth to lead 7-3

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Fowler powered an opposite-field homer to left to score Robinson and give Lynn a 2-0 lead in the first inning
- Eckerd responded with a two-out double and single to cut the lead in half
- Judge led off the bottom of the second with a deep homer to left for a 3-1 Fighting Knight lead
- After Eckerd scored a run in the top of the third, Lynn got the run back in the bottom of the inning on
Shawn Dougherty's single that brought home Fowler
- The Fighting Knights took a commanding 10-2 lead with six runs in the fourth inning

- Mayberry drove in Herrera and Robinson drove in Harrison with singles
- Later in the inning, Paulino slugged a no-doubter over the right field fence for a grand slam
- Fowler homered again in the fifth inning for an 11-3 Lynn lead
- Herrera knocked in Dougherty, Amir Cournier's sac fly scored Judge, and Mayberry's base hit to left scored Herrera for three more runs in the bottom of the sixth
