No. 6 Lynn nets 21 goals in Monday victory over UVA-Wise

BOCA RATON, Fla.- The sixth-ranked Lynn University women's lacrosse team put up a staggering 21 goals in the 21-2 rout of UVA-Wise on Monday afternoon. Multiple members of the Lynn squad got "a piece of the pie" with 10 different Fighting Knights recording a goal in the afternoon show-down.
 
The Blue and White improved to a perfect 7-0 on the season for the best start in the program's history. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers fell to 4-4 on the year.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Lynn offense was off to the races early with Elizabeth Clagett finding Hannah Exley for the quick 1-0 lead.
  • The Fighting Knights continued to strike early, netting three goals in the next two-minutes from Rebecca Clark (2) and Clagett, 4-0.
  • The Blue and White closed out the first quarter by scoring two more from the high-flying Kristyn Johnson, 6-0.
  • Johnson found freshman Ella Timperio for a quick strike early in the second as Lynn's lead grew to 7-0.
  • The Fighting Knights totaled nine goals in the second quarter including three from Timperio, and one each from Johnson, Angelia Huggins (man-up), Clark, Meredith Ravizza, Hannah Exley and Sara Williams.
  • UVA-Wise remained scoreless heading into half-time as the Blue and White led 15-0 by the end of the second.
  • Clagett opened the third quarter with a quick goal for her second of the game before Clark struck again for her fourth, 17-0.
  • Johnson claimed her fourth goal of the contest from Huggins before back-to-back strikes from Williams and Hannah Cissne gave Lynn a 20-0 lead heading into the final period of play.
  • Camryn Spiller found the back of the net for Lynn's final goal of the afternoon on an assist from Ravizza as the Fighting Knights led 21-0 with the clock winding down.
  • UVA-Wise managed to hold off the shutout, scoring two goals in the final minutes of play as Lynn claimed its seventh-straight victory, 21-2.
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
  • Fighting Knight mainstays Johnson and Clark continued their dominant start to the 2025 season, each netting four goals apiece in the win. They currently combine for 55 of Lynn's 116 goals this season.
  • Timperio recorded three goals and an assist in her best performance as a Fighting Knight so far.
  • Williams, Exley and Clagett each netted two goals apiece. Clagett has recorded a goal in all five of her starts in 2025.
  • Ava Ceglia picked up her sixth win of the year at goal-keeper, pitching a shutout in the first half with three total saves.
  • Clark continued her dominance as a defender, picking up three ground balls, causing two turnovers and winning two draw controls.
