BOCA RATON, Fla.- The Lynn University softball team went 1-1 against the 19th-ranked Kutztown Golden Bears on Tuesday afternoon. The Blue and White took the first game in a tight-knit 2-1 decision before falling short in the closer, 4-1.

The Fighting Knights are now 14-12 on the year and 14-5 against non-conference opponents. Meanwhile, the Golden Bears are 16-3 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
- Lynn got on base early as a wild pitch sent the speedy Aun'Yale Howard to first base on a called strikeout.
- Howard was later cashed in on a RBI single from Kyra Sunga to give the Fighting Knights an early 1-0 lead by the end of the first.
- Kutztown suffered a costly mistake in the bottom of the second as a throwing error sent Anabel O'Donnell home to give Lynn a 2-0 cushion.
- The Golden Bears answered back in the top of the fourth, stringing together a walk and two hits before striking on a sacrifice fly to get on the board, 2-1.
- The game remained pretty steady from that point with pitcher Madi Prickett and the Lynn defense only letting up one hit the rest of the way.
- Prickett closed out her game winning performance in the top of the seventh, only allowing one runner on via a passed ball in the frame to secure the game for Lynn, 2-1.

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (GAME 1):
- Prickett (7-6) went all seven innings for her sixth complete game of 2025. She allowed just four hits in the contest for one run while striking out seven and walking six.
- Aiyana Hicks was the only batter to record a multi-hit game for the Fighting Knights, tallying two of Lynn's three hits in the game.
- Hicks has racked up two or more hits in four of Lynn's last six contests.
- Sunga has collected a hit in her previous four starts. She currently leads the team with 22 RBI in 2025.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2):
- The Golden Bears looked to right their wrongs from game one, tallying four hits for a run in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Lynn was in position to respond in the bottom of the first as trouble on the base paths left two Fighting Knights stranded.
- Kutztown added another run to their lead on a sacrifice fly in the second to propel its lead to 2-0.
- A timely double by the Golden Bears brought in another run in the top of the fourth, 3-0.
- Kutztown scored their fourth and final run of the contest later in the sixth on a sacrifice fly to go up 4-0.
- The Fighting Knights showed life in the bottom of the sixth as a base hit from Onnalee Floriano scored Howard from second to cut KU's lead to three, 4-1.
- Pitcher Kayley Zazzali put Lynn in a good position in the seventh inning, forcing three quick outs to send Lynn to the bottom of the seventh.
- The Blue and White fought hard, putting together tough at-bats in the final half-inning of play but came up just short, 4-1.

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (GAME 2):
- Gabriella Lindsey (4-5) was credited with the loss, going 3.1 innings while giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits with no walks and a strikeout.
- Zazzali finished the game, going 3.2 innings while allowing just one run (unearned) on two hits with no walks and a strikeout.
- Both Floriano and Howard tallied two hits in the contest, combining for four of Lynn's eight hits in the game.
- For Howard, she has rallied four eight multi-hit games in 2025.
- Floriano has tallied four hits in her last five starts for the Fighting Knights.
- The Blue and White stranded three total on-base in the contest, all of which were left in scoring position.
