INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Lynn swim team closed out day four of the 2025 Swimming and Diving National Championships with a bang, placing second in three total events on Friday evening.

Luna Mertins did it again, finishing runner-up in the 100 Back for her third top-three individual finish at the 2025 Championships with a finals time of 52.37. Junior
Vitaly Kostin was next, taking home the silver in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:43.96. Finally, the team of senior
Laura Dekoninck, junior Malaika Schnieder, sophomore
Lexi Lundell and Mertins clutched the third and final runner-up title of the evening, finishing the 200 Freestyle Relay in 1:39.59.

Following Friday evening's finals, the women of Lynn sit in fifth place with 174 points while the men are in seventh with 122 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mertins broke the SSC record in the 100 Back, beating out NSU's Celina Marquez's previous record of 52.42 by 0.05 (52.37).
- She is now a 21-time First Team All-American and a 28-time All-American heading into the final day of the 2025 Championships.
- Dekoninck, Schneider, Lundell and Mertins broke the SSC Record in the 200 Free Relay, beating out Nova Southeastern's previous time of 1:30.75 by 0.16 (1:30.59)
- Kostin picked up First Team All-American honors, breaking his own SSC record in the 200 Fly by .10 seconds (1:43.96).
- Schneider placed 11th in the 100 Breast, finishing the event in 1:01.81 for Second Team All-American recognition.
- Sophomore Max Tsyfarov made a splash in the 100 Breast, placing fourth with a school-record time of 52.51.
- Freshman Mariele De Santis picked up another All-American honor, finishing 15th in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:04.28.
- Freshman Kamil Geisner was also named to the All-American Second Team, placing 13th in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:46.76.
- Freshman Luz Tapia finished 27th in the 500 Free at 4:59.18 in the prelims.
- Dekoninck finished 17th in the 100 Back prelims (55.11), just .06 away from 16th place.
- Junior Paul Melcer finished 28th in the 100 Back prelims (49.30).
- Lundell came in 30th in the 100 Breast prelims, finishing with a time of 1:03.42.
