Hoskins scores four goals in tough loss at No. 10 Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Lynn University men's lacrosse team dropped a tough 12-9 contest to the tenth-ranked Flagler Saints on Sunday afternoon. The Blue and White were led by an offensive attack that featured graduate Brian Hoskins tying his career-high four goals.
 
The Blue and White fell to 5-2 on the season while Flagler improved to 9-1 on the year.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Flagler came out of the gate hot, scoring two quick goals in the first four minutes of play to take an early 2-0 lead.
  • With a little over five minutes left in the first, Jackson Cutter found the back of the net to cut the Saints lead to one, 2-1.
  • In the final minutes of the first period, Flagler went down the field and scored twice in under a minute to build its lead up to three, 4-1.
  • Following a lengthy weather delay, Lynn struck back as Brian Hoskins found Mario Leone for a quick goal out of the break, 4-2.
  • The Saints responded quickly, scoring a goal just ten seconds after Leone's, 5-2.
  • After Flagler managed to score another goal in the second, Hoskins answered back with a goal from Cutter to cut the Saints' lead in half heading into half-time, 6-3.
  • The Fighting Knights came out of the gate hot in the third period as Connor Houston and Hoskins converted two goals to contest one third quarter goal from the Saints, 7-5.
  • Flagler made it a three-goal game once again with a little over 10 minutes left in the third before the reliable Hoskins completed a hat trick to push Flagler's lead back down to two, 8-6.
  • Cutter was laser-focused, finding Mitch Rini on a goal for his second assist of the afternoon to bring the Fighting Knights within one, 8-7.
  • With the Fighting Knights gaining momentum, The Saints put up two goals to open up the fourth and push their lead back out to three, 10-7.
  • The Blue and White remained resilient as goals from Dom Veratti and Hoskins (Man-up) pulled Lynn within one once again, 10-9.
  • With the clock winding down, Flagler struck just over the five minute mark before sealing the game with a goal in the closing seconds of the fourth, 12-9.
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
  • Cutter has scored goals in each of his previous five starts.
  • Cutter also led the way on defense with four ground balls
  • Houston has scored goals in all but one game so far in 2025.
  • Goalkeeper Hunter Klosterman (3-2) recorded a season-high 16 saves, recording 10 or more in each of his previous four starts.
  • Victor Troese and Klosterman each caused two turnovers in the matchup.
