Mayberry ties program record with three doubles in 12-4 win at PBA

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Lynn won its non-conference road game against Palm Beach Atlantic 12-4 on Tuesday evening. Blake Mayberry tied a program record and became the sixth Fighting Knight to hit three doubles in a single game in the win, while Jesse Robinson extended his hitting streak to 12 games and drove in four runs.

Lynn is now 15-10 this season and has won eight of its last nine games.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mayberry led off the game with a stand-up double to center
- After Mayberry advanced to third, Cole Fowler grabbed his 23rd RBI of the season on a productive ground out to give Lynn a 1-0 lead
- Lynn added a second run in the second inning
- Shawn Dougherty led the inning off with a base hit up the middle
- Amaris Harrison then found a hole between first and second to put runners on the corners with a single
- Juan Carlos Camarena drove home Dougherty with a ground out to second base
- After Camarena caught a runner stealing and starting pitcher Alfonso Lombardi picked off a runner, the Sailfish hit a solo homer in the bottom of the frame to make it a one-run game again
- PBA scored two runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead, 3-2
- Lynn put up crooked numbers in the next two innings to retake the lead
- Harrison led off the fourth with a walk and stole second
- Bryant Zayas shot a single up the middle to score Harrison and tie the game
- After Mayberry hit his third double of the game, Robinson went the other way with a double to right for a two more Lynn runs and a 5-3 lead
- Leon Paulino's base hit scored Robinson for a three-run lead through four innings
- Harrison, Camarena and Zayas loaded the bases in the top of the fifth on two bunt singles and a walk
- Robinson dropped a single to left field for two more Fighting Knight runs and an 8-3 lead
- After both teams went scoreless over the next two innings, Lynn added to its lead in the eighth inning
- Dougherty drove in Fowler on a ground out and Camarena brought home Paulino on a bases loaded walk
- Ahmir Cournier and Charlie Devito led off the ninth inning with free passes
- Cournier scored on a balk and Paulino knocked in Devito with another base hit between the first and second basemen to give the Blue and White a 12-4 lead
- Reliever Ari Isaacson came on for the final out of the game

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Relievers Chase Wills, Allan Jorge, Justyn Hart and Isaacson combined to allow just two hits and one run over 6 2/3 innings
- Jorge picked up the win with three scoreless innings pitched
- Lynn leadoff hitters went 5-for-9 and the Fighting Knights went 5-for-7 with runners on third and less than two out
- The Blue and White tied a season high with five stolen bases, with one each by Mayberry, Robinson, Devito, Harrison and Zayas
- Mayberry is tied for the SSC lead with 12 doubles this season
- Robinson leads the team in runs (27), RBI (26) and stolen bases (8)
- Paulino has multiple hits in seven of his last 10 games
- Harrison reached four times to raise his season OB% to .408
