Clark’s last-second OT winner lifts No. 10 Lynn to 9-8 victory over No. 7 UIndy

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 10 Lynn University women's lacrosse team secured its second consecutive overtime victory, edging out No. 7 UIndy 9-8 in a nail-biting clash on the road, Sunday morning. 

Rebecca Clark was the hero of the day, scoring four goals, including the golden goal with just two seconds left in overtime to keep the Fighting Knights undefeated at 5-0 to start the 2025 season. 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- Lynn struck first as Clark found the back of the net early in the opening quarter.
- UIndy responded with three consecutive goals to take a 3-1 lead with 2:45 left in the quarter.
- Kristyn Johnson closed out the period with Lynn's second goal to cut the deficit to one, 3-2.
- Clark opened the scoring in the second period with a goal in the eighth minute to tie the game up at 3-3.
- Both teams traded goals throughout the second and third quarters, going back and forth.
- Johnson scored a man-up goal to keep the game tied at 4-4 in six minutes left in the second.
- Angelia Huggins snatched back the lead with an unassisted goal to end the first half, 5-4.
- The fourth quarter saw Clark maintain a one goal lead with 13:40 to play, 6-5. 
- The Greyhounds scored two back-to-back between 12:43 and 7:13, 7-6 in favor of UIndy. 
- The Blue and White responded with back-to-back goals of their own by Huggins and Elizabeth Clagett to retake the lead 8-7 with five minutes left of regulation. 
- UIndy sent the game to overtime with a man-up goal scored in the final three minutes of play, 8-8 
- In the extra frame, Clark delivered the game-winning goal with two seconds left on the clock, securing the dramatic 9-8 victory for the Fighting Knights.
 
FIGHTING KNIGHTS STATS: 
- Clark led the team with four goals.
- That brings her total to 15 goals this season. 
- Johnson and Huggins each scored twice. 
- Clagget scored her 11th goal in 2025 and her seventh of the week.
- Johnson (19), Clark (15) and Huggins (11) also all have double-digit goals this season.
- Goalkeeper Ava Cegilia made nine saves on 20 shots faced.
- The Fighting Knights outshot the Greyhounds, 26-20.
- Lynn won the draw control battle 12-9, winning five of them in the fourth quarter.
-The Blue and White improved to 3-0 against ranked opponents.
