ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The sixth-ranked Lynn University women's lacrosse team put on a show on Saturday afternoon, defeating Mount Olive in a neutral site matchup at Flagler, 18-7. The Fighting Knights were led by graduate student
Kristyn Johnson, who posted a staggering 10 goals in the high-scoring victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Fighting Knights improved to a perfect 6-0 on the season while Mount Olive fell to 1-5 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rebecca Clark got things rolling for the Fighting Knights, scoring the first goal of the game from Kristyn Johnson at the 11:53 mark, 1-0.
- Mount Olive struck back with back-to-back goals in the first to take an early 2-1 lead.
- Johnson answered back with a goal of her own to tie the game up at 2-2 with the clock ticking down in the first.
- The Trojans' Katie Broom put up a goal in the final minute of the first to give Mount Olive a 3-2 lead by the end of the period.
- Johnson struck again for her second goal of the afternoon to start the second period, tying the contest up at 3-3.
- Mount Olive managed to go up by two at 5-3 on two goals scored in two minutes in the second frame.
- Lynn responded with a flurry of goals including six-straight in the period from Johnson (3), Clark, Heather Titus, and Elizabeth Clagett.
- The offensive firepower from the Fighting Knights put Lynn up 9-5 heading into halftime.
- The Trojans answered back at the start of the half to cut Lynn's lead to three, 9-6.
- The Blue and White responded with another barrage of rapid fire goals from Johnson and Clagett, both on man-up goals to give Lynn an 11-6 advantage.
- Johnson continued her dominant performance with three more goals in the third to put the Fighting Knights up 14-6 heading into the final period of play.
- Olivia Fox found Clark at the start of the fourth to continue to fuel the Lynn offensive barricade before Angelia Huggins and Johnson tallied two more to give the Blue and White an 11-goal edge, 17-6.
- Mount Olive managed to score one final goal before Fox closed out the game on a goal from Hannah Cissne in the final seconds of play, 18-7.
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Johnson has tallied multiple goals in all but one contest this year. She currently has two games with 10 or more games in her career for the Blue and White.
- Johnson currently ranks second in the Sunshine State Conference in goals per game with 4.83 a game. Meanwhile, she ranks first in points per game at a 6.00 clip
- Ava Cegilia (5-0) has picked up her fifth win at goalkeeper for the season, allowing seven goals while putting up eight saves in Saturday afternoon's contest.
- Clark has tallied more than two goals in all six of her starts in 2025.
- Clark also continues to lead the SSC in ground balls (30 / 5.00 avg) and caused turnovers (21 / 3.50 avg).
