WINTER PARK, Fla.- The Lynn University softball team dropped the series-opening contest of a three-game series to Rollins on Friday night, 5-1. The Fighting Knights delivered seven hits in the loss as
Anabel O'Donnell sliced a double down the line and
Cameron Buzzell delivered a timely RBI single.

Lynn is now 14-16 this season and 0-10 in Sunshine State Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rollins kicked off the scoring with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to take an early 2-0 lead
- The Fighting Knights struck back in the top of the second as
Cameron Buzzell scored
Kyleigh Hope from second to cut into the Tars' lead, 2-1
- The Tars extended their lead out to 4-1 following another two-run home run in the bottom of the third
- Rollins added another run in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly, 5-1
- Lynn fought back in the seventh but came up just short by the third out

Madi Prickett (7-9) went the distance, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk. She also fanned seven batters.
- Prickett has struck out five or more batters in 13 games this season.
- O'Donnell extended her stolen base streak to four games in a row.
