WINTER PARK, Fla.- The Lynn University softball team dropped a pair of defensive battles on Saturday afternoon to Rollins. The Tars took the afternoon matchup 2-1 before claiming the series sweep with a 4-1 in the later game. The Fighting Knights tallied 13 total hits in the doubleheader including a home run and a double from
Teagan Riley.

Lynn fell to 14-18 overall and 0-12 in Sunshine State Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Aiyana Hicks tallied the first hit for the Fighting Knights on the afternoon, utilizing her speed to make it to first on a bunt early in the third inning
- Rollins attacked first, scoring on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third to take an early 1-0 lead
- The Tars extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run to go up 2-0
- Lynn got on the board in the top of the sixth as
Ariana Rego scored
Aun'Yale Howard from second on an RBI single to cut Rollins' lead in half, 2-1
- Rollins loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth before
Gabriella Lindsey and the Lynn defense were able to get out of the jam unscathed
- Hicks opened the top of the seventh with a base hit, making it to second on a steal before Lynn suffered three final outs

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 1):
- Lindsey went the distance in the circle, allowing just two runs on seven hits. She fanned five batters and walked two
- Rego has racked up two or more hits in two of her four appearances in 2025
- Hicks recorded her seventh multi-hit game of the season, with two hits in the game
- Hicks also picked up her 20th stolen base of the season

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Riley kicked off the series finale with a bang, blasting a home run shot down the left field line to give Lynn an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second
- After a quiet few innings, Rollins struck back with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the frame to tie things up at 1-1
- The Tars boosted their lead by two in the fourth with a two-RBI single, 3-1
- Rollins scored their fourth and final run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth, 4-1

Kayley Zazzali entered the game in the sixth, allowing no runs to give the Blue and White a chance in the top of the seventh
- With two outs, Riley gave life to the Fighting Knights with a double to deep right field
- Despite a valiant effort from Lynn, Rollins forced one final out to seal the series, 4-1
