BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn lost its Sunday matinee to No. 16 Rollins 8-4. The Fighting Knights led 4-0 through three innings but the Tars responded with eight unanswered runs to win the series.
Shawn Dougherty homered for the second straight game and had a .857 OB% and 2.000 SLG% in the series.
Lynn is now 16-12 while Rollins sits at 20-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Starting pitcher
Noah Lucia racked up two strikeouts in a scoreless top of the first inning
- Dougherty lined a homer to right-center in the second inning for the second consecutive game to give Lynn a 1-0 lead

Blake Mayberry tagged a single to left to start the bottom of the third

Cole Fowler followed with a two-run double over the first base bag for a 3-0 Fighting Knight advantage
- Dougherty legged out a double to left as Fowler scored for a 4-0 game through three innings
- A pair of doubles plated home a run for Rollins in the top of the fourth inning
- The Tars rallied to tie the game with three runs in the top of the fifth on three walks, two wild pitches, two hits and an error
- Dougherty was intentionally walked to load the bases with one out in the bottom of the frame but the Tars were able to get out of the inning without allowing a run

Nathan Shane got out of a bases-loaded jam of his own by inducing a ground out to end the top of the sixth
- A fastball from Shane ended the seventh on a strikeout with two runners in scoring position
- The Tars took the lead in the top of the eighth after the leadoff hitter walked, advanced to third on a single and scored on a sac fly
- Three two-out singles brought in three more runs for Rollins in the top of the ninth
