MIAMI SHORES, Fla.- The Lynn University women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to third-ranked Barry, Wednesday afternoon. The Fighting Knights are now 7-5 overall and 3-2 in Sunshine State Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barry kicked off the match, capturing all three doubles flights for the 1-0 lead.
- Andrea Di Palma and Ailen Crespo defeated Kristen Younes and Carla Galmiche in No. 1 doubles, 6-1
- Salma Djoubri and Zofia Podbiol lost in the second flight to Viktoriia Dema and Maria Tatarnikova, 6-1
- Mariya Vyshkina and Brooke Distasio lost in the No. 3 doubles to Alina Michalitsch and Dinara Alloiarova
- Djoubri took home a win in first flight singles action, defeating Dema in two sets, 6-3, 6-3
- She is now 7-3 in singles action, with all seven wins coming in the number-one spot
- Vyshkina lost in a tight-knit 6-4, 3-6, 0-1 (8-10) battle in the second flight to Michalitsch
- Younes fell in No. 3 singles to Di Palma in a close 6-4, 4-6, 0-1 (7-10) decision
- The Bucs sealed the match victory with wins in the fourth, fifth and sixth flights.
