CLERMONT, Fla.- The Lynn University softball team fought hard and were rewarded for their efforts on the third day of The Spring Games, Thursday afternoon. The Blue and White first posted a 3-2 win over Clarion to open the afternoon before
Madi Prickett led the Fighting Knights to a 1-0 shutout in an extra-inning slugfest against Tiffin.

Lynn improved to an even 11-11 heading into the final day at The Spring Games.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
- Clarion struck first in the top of the first, reaching home on a throwing error to go up 1-0 early.
- Lynn got on the board in the bottom of the fourth as Kylee Dodson shot a single through the left side gap to score Cameron Buzzell, 1-1.
- An Eagles miscue allowed for the Lynn baserunners to make a play for home as Teagan Riley crossed home plate and put the Blue and White up, 2-1.
- Clarion got right back in the game with an RBI single to knot things up at 2-2 in the top of the fifth.
- Aiyana Hicks put the Fighting Knights back on top in the bottom of the frame on an RBI single to score another run, 3-2.
- Pitcher Gabriella Lindsey and the Lynn defense put together a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the seventh to claim their 10th victory of the season.

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (GAME 1):
- Lindsey (4-4) went all seven innings for her fifth complete game of the 2025 season. She tied her season-best with seven strikeouts while allowing just two runs (one earned).
- Hicks led the way with two hits in the game, tallying her third multi-hit game of the season.
- Five total Fighting Knights picked up a hit in the low-scoring affair.
- Lynn has closed out both of its previous one-score games seamlessly.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2):
- Pitcher Madi Prickett got out of a bind early, stranding two runners on in the bottom of the first.
- Prickett proceeded to get out of another jam in the second, where she loaded the bases before getting a clutch strikeout to escape the frame unscathed.
- Lynn allowed just four more Tiffin baserunners on one hit heading into the top of the seventh.
- The Fighting Knights avoided the no-hitter in the top of the seventh as Onnalee Floriano blasted a ball off the left field fence for a double.
- With no runs scored by the end of the seventh, the defensive battle took a turn into extra innings.
- Anabel O'Donnell was the hero of the offense, dropping a well-placed single into center field to score Hicks from second and put up the first points of the matchup, 1-0.
- Despite a runner waiting on third, Prickett and the Fighting Knight defense picked up a quick three outs to earn the gritty 1-0 victory.

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (GAME 2):
- Prickett (5-6) went all eight innings with five strikeouts while allowing five walks and no runs on just two hits.
- This marks the second shut-out for Prickett this season and the fourth overall for the Fighting Knights in 2025.
- Prickett has already surpassed her previous amount of strikeouts in a season (64 in 2024), posting 75 so far in 2025
