Softball picks up a pair of gritty wins at The Spring Games

CLERMONT, Fla.- The Lynn University softball team fought hard and were rewarded for their efforts on the third day of The Spring Games, Thursday afternoon. The Blue and White first posted a 3-2 win over Clarion to open the afternoon before Madi Prickett led the Fighting Knights to a 1-0 shutout in an extra-inning slugfest against Tiffin.

Lynn improved to an even 11-11 heading into the final day at The Spring Games.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1):
  • Clarion struck first in the top of the first, reaching home on a throwing error to go up 1-0 early.
  • Lynn got on the board in the bottom of the fourth as Kylee Dodson shot a single through the left side gap to score Cameron Buzzell, 1-1.
  • An Eagles miscue allowed for the Lynn baserunners to make a play for home as Teagan Riley crossed home plate and put the Blue and White up, 2-1.
  • Clarion got right back in the game with an RBI single to knot things up at 2-2 in the top of the fifth.
  • Aiyana Hicks put the Fighting Knights back on top in the bottom of the frame on an RBI single to score another run, 3-2.
