BOCA RATON, Fla. – Junior
Jackson Cutter and senior
Connor Houston combined for seven goals to power the Lynn University men's lacrosse team to an 11-10 win over Southern New Hampshire University, Saturday at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
Lynn moves to 4-1 on the season and remains perfect at home at 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The hosts outshot the Penmen 43-28 and held a 27-24 edge in ground balls
- Lynn also won 18-of-25 faceoffs, including six wins in the first and third quarters
- The Blue & White raced out to a 7-1 cushion following the first quarter
- Houston scored two goals during the first quarter run and Cutter added one
- Senior
Matthew Canedo scooped up a ground ball off the opening face-off and raced to the goal before burying a shot for a 1-0 lead 12 seconds into the game
- Houston (7:22) and Cutter (1:51) scored Lynn's two goals in the second quarter for a 9-4 lead at intermission
- Cutter scored once in the third (5:19) and one more time in the fourth (12:36)
- The Penmen held a 6-2 scoring advantage in the second half
- The visitors scored two goals in the fourth to pull to within 11-10 with 8:11 left
- SNHU keeper Patrick Cassidy notched five saves in the final 15 minutes
- Lynn graduate
Cam Stovel caused a turnover with 1:43 left in regulation to seal the win for the Fighting Knights
