DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The Lynn University softball team dropped a pair of contests to Embry-Riddle in a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader, Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights dropped opener 11-3 before being shut-out in the finale, 4-0

Lynn fell to 17-24 overall and 3-18 in SSC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):

Aun'Yale Howard put Lynn on the board early, capitalizing off of two Eagles errors to round the bases in the first, 1-0
- Embry-Riddle answered back with five runs on three hits and an error in the top of the third to take a 5-1 lead in a flash
- The Fighting Knights struck back in the fourth as
Aiyana Hicks managed to steal home, cutting the Eagles' lead to four, 5-2

Marina Goins sliced a single through the left side to score
Cameron Buzzell, bringing Lynn a little bit closer by the end of the fourth, 5-3
- The Eagles tallied a run on an RBI single in the fifth to boost their lead back up to three, 6-3
- Embry-Riddle went on to add three runs on three hits and a Lynn miscue in the sixth to go up by six, 9-3
- The Eagles capped off the game with a two-run inning in the top of the seventh as Lynn was unable to overcome the steep deficit, 11-3

Gabriella Lindsey went 5.2 innings while allowing eight runs (one earned) on nine total hits
- She walked four batters and struck out two

Kyleigh Hope each recorded multi-hit games
- Goins has tallied a hit in each of her last four starts

Teagan Riley recorded the first hit for Lynn in the bottom of the first
- The contest remained a 1-0 affair until The Eagles drove up their score in the sixth, rallying for three runs on two hits, 4-0
- The Fighting Knights got two runners on base in the final two innings but were unable to cash in as the Eagles took the series finale, 4-0
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 2):

Madi Prickett went all seven innings, allowing four runs on five hits.
- She fanned seven batters and walked two
- Prickett currently ranks second in the SSC in strikeouts (145) and first in innings pitched (137.2)
