LAKELAND, Fla. – Lynn softball opened its series with a 7-4 road win against Florida Southern on Thursday. The Fighting Knights were led by cleanup hitter
Aiyana Hicks, who went 4-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases and five runs batted in. Starting pitcher
Madi Prickett recorded her 10
th win of the season while reentering and also earning the save.
The Fighting Knights are 18-24 overall this season and 4-18 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Aun'Yale Howard led off the game with a walk, stole second and later scored on a single by
Aiyana Hicks
- FSC tied the game with a run in the bottom of the first on a pair of walks and a single
- The Fighting Knights took the lead in the top of the third

Teagan Riley hit a two-out triple and scored on a single by Hicks
- Prickett recorded a strikeout with a runner on third to end the fourth inning
- Howard walked and
Kyra Sunga singled to start a rally in the top of the fifth
- Riley doubled to left to score Howard to give Lynn a 3-1 lead
- Hicks then smacked a three-run homer to open up a 6-1 Fighting Knight advantage
- After the Mocs scored a run in the fifth, reliever
Gabriella Lindsey used a strikeout to get out of a bases loaded jam
- A two-out two-run single brought FSC within two after six innings
- Sunga led off the seventh with a single and scored on another base hit by Hicks for an insurance run
- Prickett reentered in the bottom of the seventh and closed the door with a strikeout
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Hicks' four hits and five RBI were a career high, while she hit her first home run and recorded her seventh multi-steal game of the year
- Riley has multiple hits in four of her last seven games
- Sunga and Howard each scored twice and are tied for the team lead in runs scored this season with 29
- Sunga is now hitting .378 in 2025
- Howard's 31 stolen bases rank fourth in the SSC
- Prickett lowered her season ERA to 2.40 and her 147 strikeouts rank second in the conference
