Fighting Knights rally from halftime deficit to stun PBA 9-8

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Lynn University men's lacrosse team mounted a sensational second-half comeback, overcoming an 8-3 halftime deficit to defeat the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish, 9-8, on Wednesday night in the final game of the 2025 regular season.
 
With the win, the Fighting Knights finished the regular season at 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn trailed 5-2 after the first quarter with goals from Jackson Cutter and Connor Houston 
- Brian Hoskins scored Lynn's third goal with five minutes left in the second quarter to keep the deficit to three, 6-3 
- At halftime, the Fighting Knights were down 8-3 
- The Blue and White shut out PBA in the second half and began chipping away with three unanswered goals in the third quarter 
- Houston scored at 9:35 in the third, Dom Veratti followed a minute later at 8:23 and a man-up finish by Mitch Rini closed the quarter with just under three minutes to play, 8-5 for the Sailfish 
- Lynn completed the comeback in the fourth quarter, capitalizing on two more extra-man opportunities 
- Ethan McKinley and Mario Leone each scored with a man advantage to tie the game at 8-8 with five minutes left of play in the fourth 
- With 3:15 remaining Leo Letta netted the game-winner off a feed from Leone to seal the victory for the Fighting Knights
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS: 
- Eight different players scored for Lynn with Houston leading the way with two goals and one assist 
- Cutter and Veratti each added two assists 
- The Fighting Knights converted 3-of-4 extra-man opportunities, all coming in the second half 
- Klosterman's 14 saves marked one of his top performances of the season 
- This is his ninth game this season where he made double-digit saves, his second in a row 
- Lynn was outshot 38-28 but held PBA scoreless for the final 30 minutes of play
UP NEXT: 
- The Fighting Knights return home on Wednesday, April 23 at 6:00 pm where they will play the winner of Rollins and Florida Tech in the SSC Championship semifinals
