MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Lynn University men's lacrosse team picked up its third Sunshine State Conference win with a gritty 9-7 road victory over Florida Tech on Wednesday night. Behind multi-goal performances from
Brian Hoskins and
Connor Houston, the Fighting Knights improved to 8-4 overall and 3-2 in Sunshine State Conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hoskins opened the scoring just one minute into the game, with a fast strike from
Ethan McKinley, 1-0

Dom Veratti quickly added to the lead with an unassisted goal at 12:22, 2-0
- Florida Tech responded with a pair of goals in the opening quarter, but Lynn found the net twice through McKinley and Houston to go up 4-2 by the end of the first

Jackson Cutter extended the lead with a goal at 12:30 in the second, 5-2
- The Panthers cut the deficit to one after scoring twice, including a man-up goal, 5-4
- Houston answered at the 10:30 mark in the third quarter with his second of the night on a solo effort, 6-4
- Florida Tech pulled back within one again, but
Nick Calleri connected off a feed from Veratti to keep Lynn ahead, 7-5 with three mins left in the third
- Hoskins tallied his second goal midway through the fourth for an 8-5 cushion

Mitch Rini made it 9-5 off an assist from Calleri with 4:20 remaining
- Florida Tech scored twice late, but the Blue and White defense stood tall to close out the game, 9-7

- Houston now leads the team with 16 goals this season, followed by Leone with 13

- Lynn held a 36-24 edge in shots and picked up nearly double the ground balls (31-16)
