TEMPE, Ariz. – Lynn University's women's tennis program has once again been recognized for its commitment to academic excellence, earning a spot on the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II All-Academic Team list. The Fighting Knights are one of just 104 programs nationwide to receive the honor, marking the 16th time Lynn has been recognized since the award's inception in 2004.
The team maintained a cumulative 3.4 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year and is one of eight Sunshine State Conference institutions to earn the distinction. In addition to the team accolade, eight individual student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes after achieving a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Leading the group was freshman
Storm Jansen (Sports Management), who posted a team-best 3.96 GPA. She was joined by senior
Zofia Podbiol (Business Administration) and sophomore
Maja Stajszczak (Advertising & Public Relations), each earning a 3.89 GPA.
Freshman
Paula Garcia Del Rey Alvarez (International Business Management) followed closely with a 3.85, while fellow freshman
Hailey Lizano (Social Impact & Entrepreneurship) earned a 3.83. Junior
Kristen Younes (Graphic Design) and freshman
Nora Namesnik (International Business Management) both finished the year with a 3.63, and freshman
Brooke Distasio (Healthcare Management) rounded out the group with a 3.50.
The ITA All-Academic Awards program recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate excellence both on the court and in the classroom, reinforcing Lynn's ongoing commitment to success in all areas of collegiate athletics.
