Lynn and Spring Hill battle to 1-1 draw after late goals

MOBILE, Ala. – The Lynn University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Spring Hill on Saturday afternoon at Library Field. Freshman forward Arianna Kinsley scored her first goal of the season in the 84th minute, but the Badgers responded less than two minutes later to split the points. 
 
The Blue and White have a record of 1-1-2 in the early season. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
- The Fighting Knights generated consistent pressure in the opening half, firing six shots and forcing four saves from Spring Hill goalkeeper Carlotta Stark 
- Lynn goalkeeper Emma Brunelli made a key save in the third  minute 
- Talia Stacy nearly broke through in the 21st minute when her strike clipped the left post 
- In the 33rd minute of the match Julianna Torres ripped a shot from 20 yards out that fell to the hands of the keeper to keep it scoreless 
- In the following play Isabella Humbles tested her luck after making the same play, resulting in a save 
- After a scoreless first half Lynn continued to attack and held an 11-6 advantage in shots 
- Hannah Pahl had a shot on goal in the 62nd minute that fell to the hands of the keeper in the middle of the net 
- In the 83th minute Julia Hellenkamp won back possession for the Fighting Knights in their own defensive third 
- A tiki-taka play that involved Michaela Virgin, Torres and Humbles advanced the play up the midfield into Lynn's attacking third 
- Kinsley put the Knights ahead with a strike off the crossbar after a defense-splitting through ball from Humbles to make it 1-0 
- The match ended after Spring Hill found the equalizer in the 85th minute, 1-1 
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Lynn had an 11-6 edge in shots and 8-3 advantage in shots on goal
- Kinsley netted her first goal in a Lynn uniform
- Humbles recorded her second assist of the season
- Torres added two shots on goal and leads the team in shots (9) and shots on goal (7) this season
- Hannah Pahl added a pair of shots on goal
- Brunelli made two saves and owns a 0.87 GAA and .850 SV% this season
