Emma Brunelli earns first SSC Player of the Week honor

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon and Lynn sophomore goalkeeper Emma Brunelli was named Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, marking the first honor of her career.

Brunelli has been a standout in her debut season as the starter, anchoring the Fighting Knights' defense through the opening five matches. She recently tallied her second clean sheet of the year while also turning in a career-best 13-save performance against Flagler on Sept. 17.

The Italian keeper leads the SSC in both save percentage (.895) and total saves (34), while ranking second in the league with 5.67 saves per game.

The Fighting Knights return to SSC play as they host Nova Southeastern University on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 6:00 pm.
