MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Lynn women's basketball coasted to a 51-34 win over Barry on Wednesday evening. A stifling Fighting Knights' defense opened the game on a 23-3 run and led by 23 at the half. The Buccaneers were held to just 25% shooting for the game as the Blue and White controlled the contest from start to finish.
Lynn improves to 11-6 overall and 5-4 in the Sunshine State Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn scored the first seven points of the game, with baskets by
Trinity Mocadlo,
Hannah Wentworth and
Katie Tiffan
- After a Barry field goal, the Fighting Knights closed the quarter on a 10-0 run to take a commanding 17-2 lead through one quarter
- Mocadlo and Wentworth each knocked down threes during the run
- The Blue and White extended the run to 14 straight points on two jumpers from
Serena Baker
- The margin expanded to 20, 23-3, on
Danigzy Mantilla's layup
- Wentworth's three-pointer made the score 29-7 with 2:33 remaining in the first half

Kennedi Neale grabbed an offensive rebound and made the put-back for a 31-8 Fighting Knight lead at the half
- Tiffan assisted two straight baskets by
Angelina Deleon to give Lynn a 40-19 advantage
- Barry climbed to within 14 in the fourth quarter

Emily Jean-Glaude and buried a three to close the game, 51-34

- Lynn's 34 points allowed is its lowest since defeating Rio Piedras 69-31 on 11/14/2014
- The Blue and White held Barry to just 25% from the field, the lowest an opponent has shot against Lynn since Thomas (Ga.) shot 20% on 12/10/2022 (Lynn won 77-37)
- Wentworth made four three-pointers and ranks second in the SSC with 41 three-point field goals this season
