LAKELAND, Fla. - Lynn women's basketball mounted a strong third quarter surge, but ultimately came up short in a Sunshine State Conference road setback to Florida Southern, 73-50, on Saturday evening. The Fighting Knights trimmed the deficit to just 11 points entering the fourth quarter after an impressive run coming out of halftime, but the Mocs responded down the stretch to pull away and secure the win. With the result, Lynn moves to 11-8 overall and 5-6 in SSC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Trinity Mocadlo opened the scoring for Lynn with a layup after Florida Southern struck first
- The Fighting Knights settled in defensively and forced early turnovers to limit Florida Southern's transition opportunities
- Lynn closed the first quarter within single digits, trailing 19-12
- The Blue and White continued to battle on the glass and maintain composure under the Mocs pressure
- Coming out of halftime, Lynn found its rhythm offensively and put together its best stretch of the game

- Lynn outscored Florida Southern 23-17 in the third quarter and went on a 12-point run from the five-minute mark until the final minute, cutting the deficit to 55-43
- The Fighting Knights continued to compete defensively, but Florida Southern answered late to maintain separation
- Mocadlo scored back-to-back layups to open the fourth quarter, making the score 59-47
- Jean-Glaude finished a layup off a pass from
Hannah Wentworth under the two-minute mark, but Lynn was unable to complete the comeback as the Mocs closed out the contest with a final score of 73-50
