Hannah Wentworth and a dominant double effort from
Emily Jean-Glaude, the Lynn University women's basketball team closed strong to defeat Saint Leo, 84-68, Wednesday evening at the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center on National Girls & Women in Sports Day.

The Fighting Knights used timely scoring runs and a decisive fourth-quarter push to seize control, improving to 13-9 overall and 7-7 in Sunshine State Conference play while showcasing balanced offense and stifling late defense in the home victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wentworth opened the scoring with a layup at 9:01 of the first quarter to give Lynn a 2-0 lead early on

Karishma Ortiz followed with a finish in the paint at 8:26, extending the lead to 4-0

Alana Francis scored a big-time layup inside at 7:25 as Lynn moved ahead 6-2
- Wentworth knocked down her first three-pointer of the game at 6:32 to put the Fighting Knights up 9-6
- Wentworth added another triple at the six-minute mark, pushing Lynn in front 12-9

Trinity Mocadlo cashed in a shot from distance at 5:24 to give Lynn a 15-11 advantage
- Jean-Glaude scored back-to-back baskets with a little over a minute left to put Lynn ahead 25-24
- Saint Leo closed the opening quarter with a late basket, taking a 26-25 edge

Angelina Deleon tied the game at 26-26 with a free throw at 9:38 of the second quarter
- Deleon finished in the paint at 8:45 to knot the score again at 28-28

- Jean-Glaude scored again in the paint at 3:45 as Lynn extended the Blue and White cushion
- Jean-Glaude capped the quarter with a circus layup at 1:20 before Wentworth delivered a timely block on a Lions three-point shot, sending Lynn into the final quarter with all the momentum, 65-60
- Deleon opened the fourth-quarter scoring on a three-pointer at 9:40, pushing the lead to eight
- Francis scored inside at 6:26 off a Mocadlo assist to make it all Lynn, 73-64
- Francis added another layup at 5:15 as the Blue and White quickly built a double-digit lead
- Wentworth connected from deep for her sixth three at 4:33 to stretch the advantage to 78-66
- Jean-Glaude closed the scoring with a pull-up jumper with seconds to go as Lynn secured the well-rounded 84-68 victory

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Wentworth led all scorers with 20 points, knocking down six three-pointers on the night
- Wentworth's six-made threes mark as the most made three-pointers for a Blue and White player this season and collectively ranks as one of the most dominant shooting performances in the SSC for the 2025-26 campaign
- Deleon added 18 points, going 4-for-7 from the field and 9-for-12 at the free-throw line
- Deleon's nine-made shots from the charity stripe tied her previous season-high against Ave Maria (12/21/25)
- Jean-Glaude recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, adding five assists for an all around dominant performance
- Jean-Glaude has racked up back-to-back double-doubles this season, putting together a 18 point, 13 rebound performance against PBA just last Saturday
- Mocadlo finished the contest with 12 points and five of Lynn's 27 assists as precise passing was the name of the game
- Mocadlo continues to leave her mark on this season, ranking as the third highest-scorer in the SSC in 2025-26 (15.7 PPG)
- Lynn outscored Saint Leo 19-8 in the fourth quarter shooting 58.33% from the field while holding the Lions to 18.8% shooting in the final frame
