AVE MARIA, Fla. - The No. 20 Lynn University women's tennis team swept Ave Maria, 7-0, on Friday afternoon in the 2026 season opener. The Blue and White keep its streak alive as for 37 straight years, the Lynn women have never lost their season opener.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn cruised through two doubles matches, earning the first point for the Blue and White
- In No. 2 doubles,
Lea Cakarevic and
Salma Djoubri followed with a convincing 6-1 win against Elizabeth Pince and Maria Hofmeister to secure the doubles point
- The Fighting Knights carried the momentum into singles play, winning all four completed matches to seal the 7–0 sweep
- Djoubri opened singles action with a strong performance at No. 1, defeating Nunez, 6-1, 6-2
- Younes was dominant in the second flight, allowing just two games in a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Penido

Meadow Garcia posted a shutout first set before closing out a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles against Hofmeister
- Galmiche capped the sweep with a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Pince in the fourth flight
- Lia Mosimann had a dominant 6-1 win in the first set, followed by a competitive 7-5 win in the second set to secure her win
