Lynn falls in season opener to Flagler

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's lacrosse team opened the season with a competitive showing against 12th-ranked Flagler College, falling 14–8 Saturday evening at Bobby Campbell Stadium.

The Fighting Knights begin the season 0–1 after facing a nationally ranked opponent in the opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Flagler scored in the second minute, but Mitch Rini answered immediately with a solo goal to even the contest.
- Lynn generated strong early offensive pressure, with shots on frame from Dom Verratti, Blayze Rodriguez, and Connor Zombro.
- Flagler converted late in the opening quarter to take a 3–1 lead after one.
- The Saints extended the lead early in the second quarter, but Lynn responded as Dom Verratti assisted Riley Knox to cut the deficit to 4–2.
- Lynn's defense battled throughout the half, forcing contested possessions and limiting quality chances.
- A late Flagler run sent the visitors into halftime with a 6–2 advantage.
- Lynn opened the third quarter with energy, highlighted by a solo goal from Jackson Cutter to pull within three.
- After Flagler added to its lead, the Fighting Knights remained composed as Mario Leone scored off an assist from Rini, closing the quarter at 11–4.
- Momentum shifted early in the fourth quarter when Jack McKay won the opening faceoff, leading directly to a Lynn goal.
