BARTOW, Fla. - The Lynn University softball team wrapped up its fourth and final day at The Spring Games with a split on Tuesday at the Bartow Complex. After dropping the opener to Saint Martin's, the Fighting Knights bounced back in the afternoon behind a strong offensive showing and solid pitching to defeat Edinboro, 7-2, closing out the tournament on a positive note.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Saint Martin's):
- Lynn threatened in the opening inning as
Teagan Riley lined a two-out single to center, but the Fighting Knights were unable to push across the game's first run
- Saint Martin's capitalized on early traffic in the bottom half, using a single and a bases-loaded walk to plate two runs and take a 2-0 lead after one
- The Saints added to the advantage in the second inning, scoring twice on a two-run single to stretch the lead to 4-0
- Lynn answered in the third when
Kyleigh Hope worked a walk and moved into scoring position before Riley lifted a sacrifice fly to center to bring her home and cut the deficit to 4-1
- Saint Martin's responded in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI double to push the lead back to four runs at 5-1
- The Saints continued to build momentum in the fourth, using a series of singles and a two-run double to extend the advantage to 7-1
- Lynn looked to answer in the fifth as
Isabella Rittle singled up the middle and the Fighting Knights later loaded the bases with two outs, but Saint Martin's escaped the inning without damage
- The Saints added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single and another run-scoring hit up the middle to make it 9-1
- Saint Martin's pitching closed the door from there, holding the Fighting Knights scoreless the rest of the way to secure the victory

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Saint Martin's):
- Lynn finished with five hits and three walks, putting multiple runners on base in three different innings.
- Riley drove in the lone run for the Fighting Knights with a sacrifice fly in the third inning
- Riley reached base twice, finishing 1-for-1 with an RBI and a walk
- Hope scored Lynn's only run, reaching base twice with a single and a walk
- Four different Fighting Knights recorded a hit: Hope, Floriano, Willis and Rittle
- The Fighting Knights stranded six runners on base, including three in the final inning

HOW IT HAPPENED (Edinboro):
- Lynn retired Edinboro in order in the opening inning before
Ariana Rego sparked the offense in the bottom half with a single and stolen base, though the Fighting Knights were unable to score
- Edinboro broke through in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead before Lynn responded in the bottom half as
Quinn Lockhart walked, stole second and third and later scored on an RBI fielder's choice from
Savannah Ellis to tie the game at 1-1
- The Fighting Knights took control in the third inning as Rego singled and swiped second and third before scoring on a throwing error to give Lynn a 2-1 advantage
- Lynn continued to apply pressure in the inning as
Onnalee Floriano walked and
Teagan Riley singled before Lockhart dropped down a sacrifice bunt to bring home a run and extend the lead to 3-1
- Ellis followed with an RBI single later in the frame to cap a three-run inning and push the Fighting Knights in front 4-1
- The Blue and White added to the lead in the fourth when
Cara Willis and Rego opened the inning with back-to-back singles before Willis stole home on a throwing error to make it 5-1

- Lynn's pitching staff and defense took over from there, holding Edinboro scoreless over the final three innings to secure the 7-2 victory

FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Edinboro):
- Lynn produced seven runs on 10 hits, scoring in three different innings to defeat Edinboro 7-2
- The Fighting Knights broke the game open with three runs in the third and three more in the fourth to build a six-run advantage
- Rego led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, scoring twice and stealing three bases at the top of the lineup
- Riley finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including a run-scoring single during Lynn's fourth-inning rally
- Willis recorded a two-hit day, going 2-for-3 with a run scored to help spark the offense
- Ellis drove in two runs, delivering a key RBI single in the third inning
- Lynn was aggressive on the bases with seven stolen bases, led by Rego (3) and

- Lockhart scored once and added an RBI, while also stealing two bases and dropping down a sacrifice bunt

Gabriella Lindsey earned the win, tossing four shutout innings with five strikeouts and allowing no hits in relief
