MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Lynn University softball team battled throughout a road doubleheader but ultimately fell in both contests against Florida Tech on Saturday, 10-2 (5 innings) and 3-2.
The Fighting Knights move to 9-15 overall on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Both teams were held scoreless through the opening inning before Florida Tech broke through with a run in the second

Onnalee Floriano came through with a two-RBI fielder's choice, scoring both runners to give Lynn a 2-1 lead
- Florida Tech answered in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on a big frame to take a 6-2 advantage
- The Panthers added insurance runs late to secure the 10-2 run-rule victory
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 1):
- McFadden went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a run scored
- Hope added two hits and a run, continuing her strong day offensively
- Floriano drove in both Lynn runs
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Lynn jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning as Hope drew a walk, stole second, and advanced to third on a throwing error
- Floriano executed a sacrifice bunt to bring Hope home for the opening run
- The Fighting Knights held the lead into the third inning before Florida Tech used a two-RBI single to take a 2-1 advantage
- The Panthers added another run in the fourth to extend their lead to 3-1
- Lynn responded in the fifth as Aiyana Hicks reached on a bunt single, stole both second and third, and scored on an RBI single from Quinn McFadden to cut the deficit to 3-2
- Quinn Lockhart swiped a base later in the inning and Teagan Riley worked a walk in the seventh, but Lynn was unable to capitalize, falling just short, 3-2
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 2):
- Hicks went 1-for-2 with a bunt single, two stolen bases, and a run scored
- Hope scored a run, drew a walk, and added a stolen base
- McFadden recorded an RBI on one hit
- Floriano drove in a run and added a hit
