BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University men's lacrosse team honored its senior class prior to opening faceoff before falling to No. 14 Florida Tech, 20-6, in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
Prior to gametime, Lynn honored its senior class which featured
Connor Zombro,
Chase Cavalier,
Nick Calleri,
Mario Leone,
Jack McKay,
John Meyers,
Ke'Von Day,
Tristan Lenard,
Hunter Klosterman and
Jackson Cutter.
Following the contest, Lynn moves to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn struck first as
Jackson Cutter opened the scoring off an assist from
Mitch Rini to give the Fighting Knights a 1-0 lead
- Florida Tech responded with three late goals in the first quarter to take a 3-1 advantage after 15 minutes of play

Cullen Trent opened the second quarter with a goal to cut the deficit to one, 3-2
- Florida Tech answered with a late push in the second quarter to take an 8-4 lead into halftime
- The Panthers carried momentum into the third quarter with an extended scoring run
- Lynn continued to battle in the fourth quarter as
Mitch Rini found the back of the net off an assist from
Chase Cavalier
- Zombro added a late goal, also assisted by Cavalier, to round out the scoring for the Fighting Knights
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Cutter led Lynn with two goals on the afternoon, bringing his season total to four
- Rini and Zombro each recorded a goal and an assist, with Rini now totaling 14 points (9 goals, 5 assists) on the season
- Trent and Scully each added a goal for the Fighting Knights
- Cavalier dished out a team-high two assists and now has three on the year

Dom Veratti continues to lead the team offensively with 16 goals and 22 points this season
- McKay anchored the faceoff unit, helping Lynn hold a slight edge in faceoffs, 15-14
- Lynn matched Florida Tech in ground ball play, finishing with 26 while continuing to average nearly 28 per game this season
- Klosterman and Day combined for 12 saves in goal, with Klosterman leading the team with 66 saves on the year
