BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Lynn University softball team competed throughout a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader against Rollins on Saturday afternoon at Tish Celenza Messinger Stadium, falling in both contests by scores of 4-2 and 7-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1):
- Rollins struck first with a three-run opening inning to take an early lead
- Lynn answered in the bottom half as
Kyleigh Hope reached base and advanced into scoring position on a
Savannah Ellis sacrifice bunt

Onnalee Floriano delivered with an RBI double to bring Hope home and cut the deficit to 3-1
- Strong defensive play from the Fighting Knights kept Rollins off the board in the second inning
- Hope continued to pace the offense with a double in the third inning
- Floriano followed with an RBI single, scoring Hope again to trim the score to 3-2
- Lynn continued to pressure offensively with baserunners in multiple innings
- Rollins added an insurance run in the fifth to extend the lead
- The Fighting Knights put runners on late but were unable to convert, falling 4-2
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS (Game 1):
- Hope went 2-for-3 with a double and scored both Lynn runs
- Floriano led the offense with two hits, two RBI, and a double

HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 2):
- Lynn jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning with disciplined at-bats and patience at the plate
- Hope singled to spark the rally before Floriano followed with a base hit

Marina Goins added another RBI walk to give Lynn a 2-0 advantage
- Rollins responded in the second and later tied the game in the third
- Lynn regained the lead in the third as Hicks tripled to left center and scored on a throwing error to make it 3-2
- The Fighting Knights held the lead into the middle innings behind solid defensive play
- Rollins used a multi-run fifth inning to take control of the game
- Lynn continued to compete late, putting runners on base, but ultimately fell 7-3
