MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Lynn University softball team dropped game one of a Sunshine State Conference three-game series to Barry, 7-1, on Thursday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barry used a pair of extra-base hits in the first inning to take an early 3-0 lead
- Lynn's defense responded in the second inning, as
Gabriella Lindsey worked a clean frame to keep the deficit at three
- The Fighting Knights broke through in the third when
Quinn McFadden reached and came around to score on an infield single by
Kyleigh Hope, cutting the deficit to 3-1
- Barry answered with a solo home run in the bottom half of the inning to regain momentum
- The Buccaneers extended the lead in the fourth inning with a multi-run frame to make it 7-1

Kayley Zazzali entered in relief and helped settle things in the circle over the final innings
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Hope recorded an RBI and a hit to lead the offense
- Hope leads Lynn with 28 hits this season and recorded her seventh RBI in 2026
- Floriano tallied her 23 hit this year, placing her third on the team
- Ellis recorded her 19th hit this season
