WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Lynn baseball team secured its second consecutive Sunshine State Conference series victory on Saturday, grinding out a 4-3 extra-inning win in game one before dropping the nightcap 10-3 to split the doubleheader against Palm Beach Atlantic. Powered by clutch hitting and a dominant outing from the pitching staff in the opener, the Fighting Knights continued their strong conference momentum while showing resilience throughout a long day on the road
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game #1):
- Both teams came out locked in defensively, as Lynn and Palm Beach Atlantic combined for just three hits through the first three innings with neither side able to break through
- The Fighting Knights continued to apply pressure in the middle innings, highlighted by a Jackson Tyer double in the fifth, but were unable to capitalize
- Lynn finally broke through in the sixth, as Scout Simpson reached and advanced aggressively before Jason Lashley delivered an RBI single to give the Fighting Knights a 1-0 lead
- The Blue and White pitching staff kept Palm Beach Atlantic in check, holding the Sailfish scoreless through six innings and limiting hard contact
- Palm Beach Atlantic answered in the seventh, using a walk, wild pitch, and RBI double to tie the game at 1-1 and force extra innings
- Lynn regained control in the eighth, capitalizing on a defensive error as Joel Tapia-Melo drove in the go-ahead run before a sacrifice fly from Cole Beck extended the lead to 3-1

- The game remained tight through the middle innings, with Lynn putting together multiple hits in the third but unable to capitalize, stranding runners in scoring position
- PBA broke through in the fourth inning, stringing together four hits, including a two-RBI double and another two-run double, to take a 4-1 lead
- Palm Beach Atlantic extended its lead in the sixth, capitalizing on extra-base hits and timely RBI knocks to push the advantage to 7-1
- The Fighting Knights showed life in the seventh, as Tyer delivered an RBI double and a PBA error brought home another run to cut the deficit to 7-3
