BOCA RATON, Fla. - Lynn Baseball christened its new home in dramatic fashion on Friday afternoon, as
Ivan Herrera delivered a walk-off, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Fighting Knights to a 7-6 victory over Embry-Riddle. The win capped a thrilling late comeback for the Blue and White, who scored six runs over the final two innings to secure the series-opening victory and set the stage for game two on Saturday at 1 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Embry-Riddle struck first in the third inning, using a pair of hits and a Lynn throwing error to plate two runs and take early momentum
- Lynn recorded its first hit on the new field in the third inning, as
Justin Lopez laced a double to left center to spark the offense
- The Eagles added to their lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, extending the advantage to 3-0 as Lynn struggled to find timely offense
