BOCA RATON, Fla. - Lynn Baseball christened its new home in dramatic fashion on Friday afternoon, as Ivan Herrera delivered a walk-off, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Fighting Knights to a 7-6 victory over Embry-Riddle. The win capped a thrilling late comeback for the Blue and White, who scored six runs over the final two innings to secure the series-opening victory and set the stage for game two on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Embry-Riddle struck first in the third inning, using a pair of hits and a Lynn throwing error to plate two runs and take early momentum
- Lynn recorded its first hit on the new field in the third inning, as Justin Lopez laced a double to left center to spark the offense
- The Eagles added to their lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, extending the advantage to 3-0 as Lynn struggled to find timely offense
- Lynn broke through in the bottom of the fifth, loading the bases and getting on the board with an RBI walk from Scout Simpson to cut the deficit to 3-1
- Embry-Riddle responded again in the seventh with another sacrifice fly, pushing the lead to 4-1 and putting Lynn in a late-game hole
- The Fighting Knights came alive in the eighth inning, stringing together four hits, highlighted by Luca Arenado's two-run single to pull within one
- Jackson Tyer followed with an RBI walk before Lopez delivered a sacrifice fly, capping a four-run frame to give Lynn its first lead of the game at 5-4
- Embry-Riddle answered in the ninth, capitalizing on three hits and a sacrifice fly to plate two runs and reclaim a 6-5 lead
- Lynn refused to go away in the bottom of the ninth, as Scout Simpson worked a leadoff walk and Jason Lashley followed with a single to set the table
- After moving both runners into scoring position and drawing an intentional walk to load the bases, Ivan Herrera delivered in the biggest moment
- Herrera lined a walk-off, two-run single to left center, scoring Lashley and Simpson to secure a 7-6 victory in dramatic fashion and christen the new field with a win

- Lashley stayed hot at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored, extending his hit streak to eight consecutive games
- Joel Tapia-Melo continued to be a table-setter, drawing two walks to push his on-base streak to 26 games
- Amaris Harrison added a hit and a walk, extending his on-base streak to 19 games
- Lopez led the offense with a 2-for-3 day, including the first hit in program history at the new field and an RBI
- Simpson reached base four times (1-for-2, 3 BB) with a run scored and an RBI
- Arenado delivered a clutch pinch-hit, two-run single in the eighth to spark the comeback
- Herrera came through in the biggest moment, recording the walk-off, two-run single in the ninth inning
- Tyer contributed an RBI and scored a run while reaching base twice via walks

- The Fighting Knights scored six of their seven runs in the final two innings, completing the comeback victory
