No. 12 Lynn battle to the wire against No. 3 Embry-Riddle

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The No. 12 Lynn University women's tennis team delivered a valiant performance against No. 3 Embry-Riddle in a tightly contested Sunshine State Conference showdown on senior day, narrowly falling 4-3 on Sunday morning.

The Fighting Knights showcased resilience and determination throughout the match, pushing one of the nation's top teams to the brink.

The senior class consists of Salma Djoubri, Kristen Younes, Lea Cakarevic, Carla Galmiche, and Alex Milkovich.
The Fighting Knights now stand at 10-7 overall and 4-4 in SSC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn battled fiercely for the doubles point, securing a win in the second flight but narrowly dropping the other two matches
- Kristen Younes and Salma Djoubri earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles, setting the tone with a strong and composed performance
- Carla Galmiche and Meadow Garcia fought hard at the No. 1 doubles spot but fell just short, 7-5, in a closely contested match
- Jessica Franke and Lea Cakarevic also delivered a competitive effort in the third flight, narrowly losing 7-5
- In singles play, Lynn responded with authority
- Djoubri dominated at No. 1 singles, cruising to a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory
- Younes secured another crucial point in the second flight, battling through a dramatic first-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4), before sealing the match with a 6-2 win
- Galmiche added Lynn's third point with an impressive performance, winning 6-2, 7-5 after a hard-fought second set
- Cakarevic showed grit in a three-set battle but ultimately fell 6-4, 2-6, 3-6
- Garcia also pushed her opponent to the limit, coming up just short in a thrilling contest, 2-6, 7-5, 4-6
