WINTER PARK, Fla. - The No. 12 Lynn University women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance in a statement upset over No. 9 Rollins College, 7-0, in the final Sunshine State Conference match of the season on Monday afternoon.
With the victory, the Blue and White improve to 11-7 overall and 5-4 in SSC play, closing conference action on a high note.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn started strong, winning all three doubles matches to secure an early 1-0 lead
- In singles play, Lynn continued its momentum by capturing all six flights
- Djoubri, ranked No. 3 in Division II, earned a marquee victory over No. 2 Alyssa Novoa, 7-5, 6-3
- Younes secured a commanding 6-3, 6-0 win in the second flight
- Galmiche added another point with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph at No. 3 singles
- Garcia showcased resilience in the fourth flight, dropping the opening set 6-7 (3-7) before rallying to win 6-4, 10-7
- Cakarevic cruised to a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory in the fifth flight
- Lizano closed out the sweep in the sixth flight, falling in the first set 4-6 before storming back to win 6-3 and securing the match with a thrilling 13-11 tiebreaker
