No. 5 Lynn secures convincing SSC win over No. 17 Rollins

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The No. 5 Lynn University women's lacrosse team delivered a commanding offensive performance on Wednesday afternoon, rolling past No. 17 Rollins, 16-8, in Sunshine State Conference action at Bobby Campbell Stadium.
With the win, the Fighting Knights improve to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in SSC play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn came out firing early, scoring three goals in the opening four minutes behind strikes from Zoe Stewart, Hannah Exley, and Rebecca Clark to take a 3-0 lead
- Rollins answered with a pair of goals midway through the first, cutting the deficit to one
- Olivia Hamm responded at the 3:17 mark to give the Fighting Knights a 4-2 lead heading into the second quarter
- Clark opened the second-quarter scoring at 12:49 off a feed from Angelia Huggins to push the lead to 5-2
- Elizabeth Clagett followed with a goal off a pass from Danielle Farinas, maintaining a three-goal cushion at 6-3
- Stewart capitalized on a man-up opportunity with 1:11 remaining in the half, assisted by Ella Timperio
- Farinas added a goal in the final seconds as Lynn took an 8-4 lead into halftime
- Lynn continued to control play in the third, with Huggins scoring early before Clagett extended the lead to 10-4
- In the fourth, Clark and Clagett connected to open the scoring and push the lead to 11-5
- Huggins scored back-to-back goals to extend the advantage to 13-5 midway through the period
- Despite a brief Rollins push, Lynn closed the game with goals from Timperio, Huggins, and Farinas to seal the 16-8 victory
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
- Huggins led all players with four goals and four assists for an eight-point performance
- Clark added three goals and two assists, along with six draw controls and four caused turnovers
- Clagett recorded two goals and two assists
- Farinas and Stewart each tallied two goals
- Lynn outshot Rollins 30-25 and held a 24-17 advantage in ground balls
- Ava Ceglia earned the win in goal with seven saves
- The Fighting Knights went 26-for-28 on clear attempts
