TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Personal records highlighted the Lynn University men's and women's cross country teams' performances at the FSU Pre-Regional on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park. Both teams featured members that hit career marks as the Fighting Knights competed in their third meet of the 2026 season.
 
Coming off her Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Week honor, Jessica Lombardo led the Lynn women with a 39th-place finish in the 6K, clocking 22:48.4. Her performance marked an improvement of more than 40 seconds from last week's STU Bobcat Invitational, where she finished as the top collegiate runner in 23:29.73.
 
Jackson Wood paced the Fighting Knight men for the third consecutive meet, finishing 136th overall in the 8K with a time of 27:55.4. Wood improved his personal best by approximately one minute.
 
The Lynn women finished 18th out of 25 scoring teams with 526 points, while the men placed 22nd out of 23 teams with 653 points.
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT WOMEN:
- Lombardo led Lynn with a 22:48.4, finishing 39th overall and earning 34 team points
- Her time was more than 40 seconds faster than her previous race
- Annabelle Daley finished 75th in 23:30.3, recording a personal best by 13 seconds
- Davyn Dreibelbis made her return to competition after two years away, finishing 184th in 26:26.3
- Lindsey Byer crossed 190th in 26:55.0, improving her personal best by approximately three minutes
- Madison Shatkus completed Lynn's scoring five in 192nd with a time of 27:02.7, setting a personal best by 55 seconds
- Mia Gagliardi finished 204th in 27:54.0, while Celeste Richards crossed 224th in 29:29.8
- Mia improved her time by approximately one minute from the previous meet
- The Fighting Knights totaled 526 points, finishing ahead of SSC foe Eckerd (581) while host Florida State won the women's race with 17 points
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT MEN:
- Wood led Lynn with a 27:55.4, finishing 136th overall and improving his personal best by approximately one minute
- Dylan Herzog followed in 173rd with a time of 28:57.6, also recording a personal best by approximately one minute
- Brett Guyett finished 190th in 29:55.8, lowering his personal best by four seconds
- Ethan Chance crossed 193rd in 30:08.0, improving his personal best by approximately two minutes
- Logan Goelz completed Lynn's scoring five in 197th with a time of 30:20.8, setting a personal best by approximately one minute
- Colton Barry finished 199th in 30:58.4, recording a personal best by approximately two minutes
- Denzel Rigaud rounded out Lynn's lineup in 200th with a time of 31:00.3
- All seven Lynn men finished within just over three minutes of one another, with five recording personal bests of approximately one minute or more
- The Fighting Knights finished with 653 points, placing ahead of Florida Gateway College (748) while Florida State captured the men's team title with 26 points
