BOCA RATON, Fla.—Lynn University's men's basketball team dominated the Trinity College of Florida Tigers 91-46 on Thursday in non conference action.
Brandon Smith led all scorers with 20 points on an 8-for-10 shooting night from the floor. Slobodan Miljanic and Bo Jukic each added 14 for Lynn (5-5) while Jerrel Oxendine had seven assists with eight points and Michel Vidal totaled eight boards and three points.
The Blue & White started the first half slowly by only tallying a one point lead at the first media time out with 14:47 remaining in the first half. Both Smith and Jukic tallied eight first-half points to help the Knights stretch their advantage to 17 at the intermission with the score Lynn 37, Trinity 20.
After back-to-back Smith threes and a Jeremy Lampkin layup to start the second half, the Knights boasted a 25 point tilt with 16:47 remaining in the game. The Knights continued to roll in the second half and compiled a 49 point advantage with just over three minutes left in regulation.
For the second period, Lynn shot 71.9 percent from the field and almost 60 percent from downtown. 31 of the Fighting Knights' 54 second-half points came from nonstarters.
All 13 active players on the Lynn roster saw playing time in the game. Lampkin contributed eight points and five rebounds. Preye Preboye started the game for the second time this season and had 12 points and six rebounds on 19 minutes. Oxendine's seven dimes and Preboye's six rebounds were both career-highs.
The Knight's 31 assists ranks tied for third in school history for assists in a game. Lynn posted a 58.5 percent mark from the field to go along with a 43.3 percent clip from behind the arc.
