Miami Shores, Fla. – Lynn University's baseball team lost the third game of its series against Barry 6-2 on Sunday afternoon. Patrick Roedel and Kyle Radzewski drove in runs for the Fighting Knights. Lynn falls to 24-22 overall and 8-13 in Sunshine State Conference play.
The Blue & White grabbed just their second lead of the series in the second when Radzewski drove home Roedel with a single up the middle. Roedel then made it a 2-0 Lynn advantage in the third with an RBI single, scoring Austin Smith.
Smith saw his hitting streak end at 14 games though. The junior outfielder batted .400 with 13 runs scored and a .550 slugging percentage during the nearly one-month span.
Barry (36-15, 20-4 SSC) knotted the game at two in the bottom of the third and then took the lead for good in the fourth following an Evan Ashley RBI fielder's choice.
Jason Beaumont picked up just his third loss of the season, allowing nine hits, five runs and three walks in six innings. Jason Whelan fanned two in two innings of relief.
