BOCA RATON, Fla.—Lynn University's top-ranked women's tennis team boasted a perfect 9-0 win against Sunshine State Conference foe the Florida Southern College Mocs on Sunday.
To start things off in doubles, the No. 5 pair of Ioana Ivan and Sabine Krause defeated No. 20 Sabine Goge and Magda Riutort 8-2. Then Lynn's number two doubles of Ana Kriz and Kim Przeszlowski posted an 8-6 win over Olivia Spagnuolo and Jessica Cove. In the third doubles flight, Andrea Berkova and Roxane Alexandru ousted FSC's Laura Wichmann and Christie Nunnemann 9-8 (6-4).
Ana Kriz finished singles action first for the Blue & White with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Spagnuolo at number four singles. Then Przeszlowski avenged her first loss of the season in yesterday's Saint Leo match with a 6-0, 6-1 throttling of Nunnemann at number five.
Aleks Vukadinovic finished next and went 6-0, 6-2 at number six singles against Jill Doerfler. Lynn's No. 5 Ioana Ivan followed Vukadinovic in order of finish and pulled a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Goge at the top singles flight.
Berkova collected an epic three set win over Riutort 6-3, 3-6, 12-10 in the second singles flight and No. 30 Krause completed play for the match with a 6-4, 7-6 (8-2) win at number three singles.
Lynn takes an eight day break from matches and faces Eckerd and Hillsborough Community College in a doubleheader on Saturday, February 25, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Perper Tennis Complex. Fans can follow the action live on Twitter by following @LUKnights #LUWT.
