Lakeland, Fla. – The Lynn University women's tennis team opened up its 2016 Sunshine State Conference schedule in Lakeland on Saturday morning, sweeping Florida Southern College 9-0 to improve to 2-1 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn took a 3-0 lead with comfortable victories in doubles competition.
- The top-ranked duo of Diana Bogolii and Rosalie Willig swept at the top flight, Grace Mpassy and Carolina Cuevas dropped the Mocs 8-3 at No. 2 doubles while Tania Alaby and Martina Gledacheva brought in the third victory for Lynn at No. 3, 8-2.
- The Blue & White took five of the six singles matches in straight sets in the 9-0 sweep.
- 20th-ranked Gledacheva battled at No. 3 singles against Selin Devrimci. After dropping a close first set, Gledacheva bounced back to take set two, 6-0 and closed out the win 10-8 in the third.
- Eighth-ranked Bogolii took down Sasha Nionova at the top singles spot, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3.
- Mpassy saw her first action of the season at the No. 2 position, cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 win.
- Cuevas and Alina Jane posted straight-set wins at the fourth and fifth flights, respectively.
- Alaby picked up her first career singles win in the Blue & White in the final match, 6-2, 7-5.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Fighting Knights have won all 31 matchups with the Mocs in program history.
