Valdosta, Ga. – Lynn University's sixth-ranked men's tennis team started off the weekend with a 2-1 lead over Valdosta St. after doubles action on Friday, but the ninth-ranked Blazers came back in singles and defended their home court to defeat the Fighting Knights, 5-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights took two of the three doubles matches to build a 2-1 edge over the Blazers.
- Daniel Riggs and Pavel Mojha cruised to an 8-1 victory at the top flight, while Danyang Xu and Jose Porfirio Ordonez had a battle at No. 3. The Blue & White came out on top in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-4).
- The Blazers snagged the No. 2 doubles match, 8-4.
- The momentum quickly shifted to the home side as the Blazers picked up four singles matches in straight sets to close out the victory.
- 46th-ranked Mojha continues to be a consistent scoring option for Lynn, recording his team's only singles point with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph in the No. 2 match.
- Ethan Itzkovitz and Porfirio Ordonez each won seven games apiece at the fourth and sixth flights, respectively, while Riggs was dropped at No. 1 singles by the nation's 10th-ranked player, Leo Blay.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Mojha is 5-0 in singles action this season.
- Valdosta St. recorded its first win over Lynn since 2011.
