BOCA RATON, Fla. – After falling behind early, the ninth-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team jumped out in front but took a tentative 4-3 lead late into Tuesday evening. The Fighting Knights dropped the opening set at both five and six singles, but Jose Porfirio Ordonez was able to fight back and clinch a 5-4 Lynn victory over No. 35 Palm Beach Atlantic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn dropped two of three in doubles action, with Pavel Mojha and Jean-Baptiste Mateo grabbing the point at No. 2 in convincing fashion, 8-0.
- The Sailfish took the first and third flights, 8-4.
- Ethan Itzkovitz quickly knotted the match up at two-all with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles.
- Mojha's 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 gave Lynn its first lead of the match, but PBA evened it back up with a three-set win at the top spot from 16th-ranked Nicolas Uryson.
- Mateo notched the go-ahead with ease at the No. 4 position with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
- Porfirio Ordonez had a marathon battle at No. 5 that featured tiebreakers in the opening two frames. The freshman closed out strong in the third (6-2) to give Lynn its fifth point and clinch the match.
- At No. 6, Danyang Xu took the second set 6-4 after falling in the first, but was unable to carry the momentum to the third in a lengthy duel.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Fighting Knights are 5-1 in matches this season decided by one point.
