BOCA RATON, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team picked up steam in singles action en route to a 9-0 win over St. Thomas on Wednesday night in the squad's 2017 season opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights took all three doubles flights, with the No. 3 match being the closest contest of the night at 8-5 in Lynn's favor.
- Returning juniors Mehdi Laalej and Jean-Baptiste Mateo led the way at the top two flights in singles with straight-set wins to clinch the match.
- 15th-ranked Kay Bartmann took the No. 3 matchup over NAIA's 46th-ranked Fabrice Bissainthe.
- With the match decided, Florian Clemares (No. 4), Tristan Houle (No. 5) and Jakub Jiricka (No. 6) posted eight-game pro-set victories to round out the night.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Fighting Knights have never lost to the Bobcats.
- Houle and Clemares made their Lynn debuts while Jiricka and Bartmann dressed in Blue and White for the first time during the regular season.
