Box Score Boca Raton, Florida – Lynn Fighting Knights' fans turned out to support the men's basketball team as they went on the road to face Division I opponent FAU. Despite 10 three-pointers, Lynn was unable to relive the magic of 2018, as they fell to the Owls 69-54.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Brandon Bornelus led the way in scoring for the Fighting Knights putting up 14. The point guard also led the team in assists (6) and steals (3). He added two defensive rebounds as well.
- Servet Kurnaz struggled to get anything going inside, but he did knock down three triples to go along with three assists.
- Former SSC Newcomer of the Year Christian Peevy scored six points, and he pulled down five rebounds, the second-most on the team.
- The Fighting Knights got a lot of production from their bench. Branden Ellis led the team with six rebounds, three on both the offensive and defensive ends, and he scored eight points in 28 minutes of play.
- Though he only played seven minutes, Braxton Bartlett provided a spark for the Fighting Knights in the first half picking up two big buckets when Lynn needed some momentum. He would end with five points.
- As a team, the Fighting Knights made 10 three-pointers, which was more than they made from inside the arc. They shot just 19-59 from the field, but they did shoot 30.3% from deep.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Lynn scored first in the game, but the Owls scored 12 of the next 14 points in the contest. The Owls led by as many as 11 in the first half, but the Fighting Knights went on a 9-4 run at the end of the period to cut the lead to two possessions.
- Lynn cut the deficit to three early in the second half, but that was as close as it would ever get.
- This was the fourth time these two teams have met for the South Florida Showdown. Lynn trails the series 3-1.
UP NEXT:
The Fighting Knights will open up the regular season at home on Saturday, No. 13 at 1 p.m. against Mississippi College.
