Team effort leads Fighting Knights to 86-54 win over the Lions

Boca Raton, Florida – 13 different Fighting Knights saw action, as Lynn ran away with an 86-54 victory over the Georgian Court Lions.

STATS OF THE GAME:

  • The Lions scored the first bucket of the game, but after that, it was all Fighting Knights. Once Lynn took a 5-2 lead with 18:07 remaining in the first half, they led the rest of the way.
  • 11 different Fighting Knights scored, with Christian Peevy leading the way with 14 points. Peevy recorded his second double-double in a row his third of the season, as he also led the team with 11 rebounds.
  • Branden Ellis and Ibrahima Sankare were right behind Peevy, with each scoring 13 points. Ellis did so on 6-7 shooting. Sankare pulled down eight boards, including three on the offensive end.
  • Jamison Evans started and scored in double figures, posting 10 points and six rebounds in 21 minutes of play. He also led the team with five assists.
  • As a team, the Fighting Knights has seven blocks, four of which came from Cameron Gaines. Gaines also added seven points and six rebounds.
  • Brandon Bornelus, Tommie Luke and Montez Leath each recorded two steals to lead the way for Lynn.
  • Frank Mack, Alex Doane and Mason Schwaber each recorded career-highs in points scored.
  • As a team, the Fighting Knights nearly doubled the Lions in rebounds. Lynn pulled down 49 to just 25 for Georgian Court. The Fighting Knights won the battle on the offensive glass 16-6.
  • Lynn shot 46.2% from the field while holding the Lions to just 28.6% shooting.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE

  • The Fighting Knights are now 4-0 in non-conference games this season. They have won the contests by an average of 24.5 points.
  • Lynn's 32-point win was their largest margin of victory this season. The 54 points allowed was the second-lowest so far this year.

UP NEXT:

The Fighting Knights will travel to Melbourne, Fla. to for the Florida Tech Winter Classic. They will take on Lake Superior State on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 4:30 p.m. and Notre Dame (OH) on Monday, Dec. 20 at 4:30 p.m.
